Remember to focus on your mental health as far as women’s health week is concerned. Below are tips that can help improve your mental state and prevent any form of mental problems.

It is important to know that a relationship exists between mental and physical health. The moment you take care of your mental health there are possibilities that you feel great physically, and also the care you give to your body physically can help improve your mental health.

Statistically, in the United States, 20% of the women have a mental health issues which could be caused by the following : post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorder or depression.  More than 40% of both men and women are diagnosed with anxiety. Women are at the higher risk of suffering from depression than men.

Recommendations to Have Sound Mental Health

You can suppress stress and depression to promote a sound mental health by engaging yourself in the activities you find most suiting like: singing, dancing, reading, writing, hangout with friends. Others may include:

a) Yoga- this therapeutic exercise has been known to help with depression, anxiety and insomnia.

b) Contact your family and friends when you feel like you need someone to talk to and spend time with. This act helps to feel loved and cared for.

Many are kind of lost on what a ‘well-woman visit’ is about. This is the moment you visit your health care provider to do the following :

– Discuss your health life, family history, family planning, personal habits like, consumption of weeds, healthy drinks, unhealthy diet and the likes.

– Discussion on how to schedule necessary screenings, a work-plan to help guide you towards health living. Some screenings could be conducted for depression, drug abuse and other bad habits.

– You might also want to discuss with your health service provider if you subscribe for therapy, medications, or other treatment for a sound mental health and abuse of substance which may lead to health mental damage or disorder.

– Set your priorities on some goals that would help build a healthy mental state. These goals may include: staying fit and maintaining a healthy weight, good nutrition, and being active.
